ROMA | VIA DEL CORSO – S.MARIA IN VIA LATA

The basilica of Santa Maria in Via Lata is a Catholic place of worship in Rome, in the Pigna district. The church is located on Via del Corso, the ancient Via Lata, hence the church’s attribute.

Tradition states that Paul of Tarsus lived in this place under house arrest while awaiting trial; however, a similar claim is made for the church of San Paolo alla Regola.
