Chiesa del Santissimo Sacramento di Roma

The Church of the Santissimo Sacramento is an oratory in Rome, in the Trevi district, located in Piazza Poli, along Via del Tritone.
The church was built between 1576 and 1596 for the Confraternity of the Santissimo Sacramento of the nearby Church of Santa Maria in Via; it was restored by Carlo Rainaldi in 1681; it was then completely rebuilt in 1727. When Via del Tritone was opened in the 19th century, the building to the right of the church was demolished, mirroring the one still existing on the left side, thus breaking the harmony of the structure of the entire complex.
The interior of the church has a single nave; it preserves 19th-century frescoes by Luigi Martinori, a result of the restoration carried out by Tito Armellini between 1865 and 1867; on the main altar there is a painting by Francesco Trevisani depicting the Holy Family.
