VENEZIA | BASILICA DI SANTA MARIA DELLA SALUTE
PUNTA DELLA DOGANA – CANAL GRANDE – S. MARCO

This billboard is out of the ordinary because of its location, on top of Chiesa della Salute, known all around the world together with Basilica di San Marco. The building itself represents a former vote to Mary on behalf of the city of Venice as thanks for freeing it from the plague that heavily struck the population between 1630 and 1631.

The billboard is particularly effective because it’s placed right at the beginning of Canal Grande, which has been free of billboards for years. Also right next to Palazzo Grassi – Punta della Dogana where thousands of tourists arrive to visit the Francois Pinault collection. Artistic spirit is at the base of the Dogana della Salute, defining this borough filled with street artists, students, painters, restorers, historians, sculptors, curators, collectors and heirs all in close contact with each other. The Peggy Guggenheim collection, now turned into a museum, attracts, at night, all sorts of people for very chic aperitifs in the most suggestive ambients. Traditionalists and visionaries all bask in the bohemian luxury of the place. We find ourselves close to San Marco, between the Giudecca island and San Giorgio’s. Its prestige is unrivaled.
