Battistero di San Giovanni

The Baptistery dedicated to St. John the Baptist, patron of the city of Florence, rises in the heart of the city – in front of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in San Giovanni Square.

Restoration works, which ended in fall 2015, were looked after by Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore. The conclusion of the restoration works culminated with the opening ceremony of the Great Museum of Florence’s Dome and the Pope’s visit.

In June 2015, on the occasion of Pitti Immagine, ONE curated an impressive set up by covering a more than 3000 square metres scaffolding with the reproduction of the Florence historical silk scarf, created by Emilio Pucci in 1957.

Also, The Baptistery restoration has been a great chance to try out a crowd funding financial operation through exhibitions arranged by ONE and some of the sponsors, which contributed to make the restoration.
