UNESCO has awarded this palace as world heritage site. The Royal Palace in Genoa belongs to an important architectural complex, which dates back to the seventh or the eight-century. It original furniture, paintings frescoes and stucco are still totally preserved. The Royal Palace is an important museum centre featuring a historical house, a garden and an art gallery.

All its external facades have been restored in a project lasted five years from May 2008 to April 2013. This restoration project has been one of the first monument maintenance initiatives supported by ONE.
